For sure, there are famous hotels that have been in movies. But there are some movies where a hotel becomes part of the story. Luckily, with hotel points, you are able to stay at some of these iconic properties.
Here are just a few of the hotels which have become part of the Hollywood lexicon.
If you’re talking about iconic hotels from movies that you can book with points, there’s nowhere better to start than the Park Hyatt Tokyo.
While already a great hotel, it became famous thanks to the movie Lost in Translation. Starring Bill Murray and directed by Sofia Coppola, the movie takes place mostly in the hotel, including its iconic New York Bar.
When we visited Toyko, we even visited this location, as it has unparalleled views of Tokyo.

If you’re looking for somewhere closer to home, what about San Diego, CA?
The iconic Hotel del Coronado is more than the inspiration for the Grand Floridian at Disney World. It also was the setting for the 1958 classic film Some Like It Hot, which starred Marilyn Monroe. The hotel is part of the Hilton Honors Curio Collection, which means you can book a stay there using your Hilton points.
However, when it comes to iconic hotels, Hollywood cinematographers don’t have to do more than look at their own backyard.
The Westin Bonaventure Hotel has been in more movies than any other hotel.
The unique style means it can fit into futuristic movies like Blade Runner or have its atrium elevators act as the backdrop of the iconic motorcycle/horseback chase scene with Arnold Schwarzenegger in True Lies.
You can book a room at this Los Angeles landmark using your Marriott Bonvoy points.
When talking about hotels in movies, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention one of the most famous NYC hotel movie stars, The Plaza. While its first major movie role was in Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest, most adults nowadays will remember it from its cameos in Crocodile Dundee 2 and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. 
The Plaza has undergone a massive renovation since those 1980s films but it still maintains its Guilded Age charm. You can book a room at the Fairmont property using points from the Accor Live Limitless program.
There’s one more hotel that’s captured the current pop-culture zeitgeist, the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. If you’re filming a dystopian movie or TV series, this is your current go-to place.
That’s mainly because of the look of the atrium, which was the tallest in the world before the Burj Al Arab in Dubai took that title from it.
The hotel was used for the tribute center in the Hunger Games films, seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming and most recently was the TVA Building in the Disney+ series Loki. If that’s not enough nerd cred, it’s also the real-life home of the yearly Dragon Con convention.
And since it’s a Marriott property, you can use your Marriott Bonvoy points to stay there.
The final place where you’ll find hotels from movies is Las Vegas. Caesars Palace was a character in The Hangover and there would be no Oceans Eleven without The Bellagio.
You can book Caesars hotels with Wyndham Rewards points and the MGM properties, including Bellagio, can be booked with World of Hyatt points.
There are tons of other hotels that have been in movies. The Beverly Wilshire and Miami’s Fountainbleu come to mind right away. However, those hotels are not part of any major hotel chain and if you want to stay there, you’ll have to pay for the privilege.

St Regis bora bora from couples retreat
The Carlton in Cannes was prominent in To Catch A Thief. Apparently now it’s an IHG hotel.
How about the Alex Johnson hotel in Rapid City, SD also featured in North by Northwest. When the movie was made it was the Sheraton Alex Johnson, but now it is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. There are pictures of Alfred Hitchcock and some of the stars just off the lobby!
