Spring Is On Its Way, So It’s Time For Deals On One-Way Car Rentals!

by SharonKurheg

If you consider the weather conditions in most of the country right now, you probably wouldn’t say that spring has quite sprung yet, but according to the calendar, it’s just one month away. And with that, some car rental companies traditionally offer deals on one-way car rentals as a way to move their inventory out of certain states, since there aren’t as many summertime car rentals in some parts of the country as there are in the winter. This year is no exception and here are the deals the major car rental companies are offering for you to help them move their fleet.

Florida

Alamo

Alamo’s “Florida Drive-Out” promo is valid on economy through full-size car classes (but keep in mind that not all vehicles are available at all locations). Rates start at $24.95/day for economy through full-size cars, $29.95/day for intermediate SUVs, and $34.95/day for standard SUVs and minivans.

Their offer is valid from April 1st through May 31, 2019 and is only good on one-way rentals. The car must be picked up at a participating location in Florida (specifically in Fort Myers, Sarasota, Naples, Punta Gorda, Orlando, Disney Hotels, Daytona Beach, Melbourne, Sanford, Tampa, Clearwater, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, West Palm, Key West and Boca Raton) and returned at a participating location outside the Sunshine State. Rentals must be between one and fourteen days long.

Go to this page of Alamo’s website for more information, including Terms & Conditions.

Enterprise

Enterprise is also offering one-way car rentals out of Florida for as low as $24.95/day (excluding taxes, fees and surcharges). From their website:

Arizona

Enterprise

Besides offering deals out of Florida, Enterprise is also offering deals out of Arizona for as low as $29.99 base rate per day (before taxes, fees and surcharges because of course).

Here’s more info from their website:

(boy, doesn’t that sound familiar…just substitute “Arizona” with “Florida”)

Our take on these deals

We’ve followed this “car migration” in both directions for a couple of seasons now and have noticed that prices have gone up significantly! In fact, just a year ago, Alamo and Enterprise offered the same deal for just $9.99 per day! A 150% price increase should never be considered a “deal” but then again, when subcompact cars are sometimes renting for upwards of $50 per day depending on location, I guess it indeed still is a good deal.

Don’t forget!

If you decide to rent a car one-way from Arizona or Florida, make sure:
