Happy Sunday to all of our travel friends, both near and far! Here are some articles we’ve read from other bloggers (and other sources) that we think you may like, as well, so we’re passing them along.
- Sara from MileValue goes over how to use HawaiianMiles to book flights to Hawaii as well as for interisland flights.
- The ongoing grounding of the 737 MAX has resulted in a series of far disconnected issues. Scott from Travel Codex found out that Alaska Airlines was supposed to take shipment of some of these planes but the delay has caused them to keep their Q400 turboprops in service for a while longer.

- Anna from Point Me to the Plane investigated if it was a good value to book independent hotels using our Chase Ultimate Rewards. While most people feel that transferring points to a hotel partner is the best use but what if the hotel isn’t in any program. IN that case, booking a unique hotel or one perfectly suited for your stay is a great use of points if you don’t want to pay with cash
- Gary from View from The Wing writes about the sudden departure of the CEO of Cathay Pacific airlines. While the ongoing problems in Hong Kong no doubt had a part to play in this story, just how much pressure did the Mainland Chinese government place on the airline to make the change?
- Finally, Miles for Family has a dilemma. The night before leaving on a Disney Cruise, they have the opportunity to visit the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom. Should her family start the trip at 10 by running around the parks until Midnight or should they get a good night sleep and head to the Disney Cruise early in the morning well-rested. There’s no right or wrong answer to this one. Which would you do or if you’ve done this, what are your suggestions?
