Oh, how quickly we forget.
Since around the time the WHO declared coronavirus to be a worldwide pandemic, the vast majority of people have not traveled. Many haven’t even ventured past their own front doors very much, either because of government mandate or out of an abundance of caution.
Of course, no one likes being stuck in their homes, and travelers want to travel. Even though their travels often can be less than ideal. Remember situations like these?
At The Airport
- Crabby TSA agents (but at least we probably know why they’re like that)
- Everything is more expensive (here are some things you should never spend your money on at airports)
- Naziesque gate attendants (Remember this story? And then this one?)
- Turf battles between “Karens” and United 1K members of the aviation world
- Gate lice

On The Plane
- Ear pain (here’s what you can do to try to avoid it)
- Crying babies (although some airlines have considered child-free zones)
- When the person next to you has body odor (here’s how to make it bearable)
- Every single person described on this website
- Being able to see/hear the people joining the Mile High Club <– this post is clean but a link to a video in the post is NSFW
- Any of these people:
At The Hotel
- Electronic thermostats that are set too high/low (here’s how to override several of them)
- Bedbugs (here are the cities with the most bedbugs)
- You could wind up in a hotel that even TripAdvisor says is downright awful.
- Or in a hotel that’s just….failed. Like these or those

So with ALL of that, do you REALLY want to get back to traveling?
Yeah, me too.
As soon as it’s safe, I’ll be ready to go.
