American Airlines Asks People To Stop Trying To Get Into Admirals Club With Priority Pass

by joeheg

If you work somewhere where you have interactions with the public, there will be questions that you get all of the time. For instance, a retail employee will get asked “Where’s the bathroom?” or some version “Are you open now?” so often they’ll hear it in their sleep. For Disney employees, a running joke used to be getting asked, “What time is the 2 PM parade?” (That’s when Disney had set times for large parades.)

While most of the time you understand it’s part of the job, you have to be really tired of a problem when you take the time to make a sign to answer a question before people ask. Such is what I found outside the American Airlines Admirals Club at Orlando Airport.

THIS IS NOT A PRIORITY PASS LOUNGE. CLUB MCO FOR PRIORITY PASS GUESTS IS LOCATED BY GATES 1-29

I’m curious how many times people with Priority Pass tried to enter the lounge only to be sent away. As you can see, this isn’t just a note taped to the door. This sign took some time to make, with images of a card and even a translation of the message into Spanish.

To the Orlando Admirals Club employees, I’m sorry for all of the passengers who didn’t read my post about the lounges of Orlando Airport and how to get access to each one.

And a quick reminder to those who visit The Club MCO by gates 1-29, you need to watch which train you board to get you back to the American Airlines gates.

If you are in the airside area at gates 1-29 and are about to take the APM, you will have to take the APM on the right side. That one will allow you to just walk over and get the other APMs to gates 30-59. If you take the APM on the left side it will lead you outside the secure area and you will have to go through security again (if it’s in international arrivals mode).

I still can’t get used to “APM” there. Do any other airports call it that?

I’m sure that most other places would call it a monorail but I’m sure that it’s called the APM because we are in the land of Disney
