Airline Relocations at Orlando Int’l Airport (MCO) Happening June 6th

by SharonKurheg

Before Terminal C opened last September (here’s what it was like on Opening Day), Orlando International Airport was an overcrowded mess. Don’t get me wrong…it still has its problems. But if nothing else, overcrowding isn’t one of them (a lot of the issues still there may not even be the airport’s fault).

With Aer Lingus, Azul, British Airways, Caribbean Airlines, Emirates, Eurowings, GOL, Icelandair, jetBlue, Lufthansa, LynxAir, Norse, Red Way and SunWing all now located to Terminal C, it leaves more breathing room for the airlines still at Terminals A and B. So apparently the time has come to move some of those airlines around, to better balance out the terminals.

Check in for Terminals A & B currently look like this:

a map of a airportHowever, on the evening of June 6th, some airlines are going to move around:

  • Alaska Airlines – check-in will move from Terminal A to Terminal B (by United & Silver), and their gates will move from Gates 100-129 to Gates 30-59.
  • Breeze – check-in moving from Terminal A to Terminal B (by United & Silver).
  • Spirit Airlines – all check-in (domestic & international) will move from Terminal B to Terminal A (previously occupied by JetBlue).

The update should make things less cramped for all involved. It should also make Spirit a wee bit less confusing, since it’s currently split between Terminals A and B, depending on where you’re flying to.
