Conrad Hotel Orlando: The Newest Ultra-Lux Resort Near Disney World

by joeheg

In 2021, during the pandemic, Hilton Hotels made an announcement to open the first Conrad hotel in Orlando at the Evermore Resort. This luxury vacation spot, covering an area of 1,100 acres, is focused around Orlando’s first artificial lagoon facility and is situated on the land that was previously occupied by the Villas of Grand Cypress, which was linked to the Hyatt Grand Cypress resort.

Initially set to open in 2023, the 1 billion development project by Dart Interests encountered several delays due to COVID, rising construction costs, and hurricanes.

Despite these delays, the Conrad Hotel is planning a big grand opening celebration on January 1st, 2024 according to Growthspotter.

Evermore Orlando Resort includes luxury vacation homes, villas, and flats as well as the four-story 433-room Conrad Hotel at the northernmost edge of the property. The hotel forms an L-shape overlooking Evermore Bay, a 20-acre beach complex. Implementing technology by Miami-based company Crystal Lagoons, the lagoon spans eight acres and is filled with 17 million gallons of water.

Rooms at the Conrad look great based on the promotional images.

While the website says rooms are available from January 1st, the Conrad website says reservations are open from January 9th and beyond.

For those who have stayed at the Hyatt Grand Cypress, you know that this is one of the best places to stay if you’re not willing to stay on Disney property. However, the ultra-luxury resorts are now exceeding even WDW pricing. Here’s the price for a room at the Conrad in February.

And while that might seem expensive, here’s what a room at the Four Seasons costs for the same timeframe.

These prices make the Grand Floridian seem cheap in comparison.

Final Thought

In 2021, when the announcement of a luxury hotel being built near Walt Disney World was made, people thought it was a crazy idea. They believed that the hotel prices were already too high, and who would pay such an amount for a hotel near Disney? However, the Four Seasons proved them wrong. But the question remained, would there be enough demand for multiple top-end resorts? Conrad is pricing their rooms for around $1000 a night, indicating that they knew something we didn’t.

I’m waiting to see what happens when the Fairmont and Nobu hotels open in the next few years.
