Earn 10,000 Ultimate Rewards For Booking Hotel With Chase Travel (Targeted)

by joeheg

Chase has been introducing spending offers for its credit card lineup every quarter as soon as the previous offer concludes.  It seems that the value of the offers and the specific cards eligible are randomly chosen, although there must be an underlying methodology for the selection process. In recent years, offers have focused on Chase’s co-brand portfolio as received bonus spending category offers for Southwest, IHG and Marriott cards.

However, this quarter, I received bonus offers for several of our Ultimate Rewards cards, offering 10,000 bonus points for purchasing a hotel stay from Chase Travel.

10,000 Ultimate Rewards for using Chase Travel

I received the same offer on my Sapphire Reserve, Ink Business Cash and my wife’s Freedom Unlimited. We did not receive offers on her Sapphire Preferred or Ink Cash.

The terms were the same for each offer:

With this bonus offer, eligible cardmembers who activate this offer can then earn 10,000 bonus points when they purchase a hotel stay through Chase Travel totaling at least $400 in a single transaction.

Purchase must be made by 01/31/25 11:59 PM ET with the same eligible card used to activate and travel must be completed by 08/31/25 11:59 PM ET. Booking can include point redemption, however, point redemption value will not count towards offer minimum spend. Only purchases completed through Chase Travel are eligible, “reserve now, pay later” and cancelled or refunded purchases are not eligible.

This bonus can only be earned once per cardmember, regardless of how many eligible cards a cardmember has, and will be awarded to the eligible card used to activate this offer. We reserve the right to cancel or modify this offer at any time without notice. See your Rewards Program Agreement for more details about earning and redeeming points.

Eligible Chase Cards

The offer appears to be across all of the Chase cards that earn Ultimate Rewards, including:

  • Chase Freedom
  • Chase Freedom Unlimited
  • Chase Freedom Rise
  • Chase Freedom Flex
  • Chase Freedom Student
  • Chase Ink Cash
  • Chase Ink Business Cash
  • Chase Ink Business Preferred
  • Chase Ink Business Unlimited
  • Chase Ink Plus
  • Chase Ink Business Premier
  • Chase Sapphire
  • Chase Sapphire Preferred
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve

Is this a good deal?

If we consider that each Chase Ultimate Reward point is worth at least 1 cent, then the base value of 10,000 points is $100. This means that if you spend exactly $400 on a hotel, you’ll get back 25%. However, it’s possible to get even more value from Ultimate Rewards. Chase premium cards can get 1.25 to 1.5 cents per point on Chase Travel bookings, and you can get even more value by transferring points to a program like Hyatt, Aeroplan, or Flying Blue.

I’m curious how this will work with the $50 statement credit for Chase Travel hotel bookings with the Sapphire Preferred and the $300 travel credit with the Sapphire Reserve, as there’s a possibility of stacking these offers to save even more.

Final Thought

You can check if your cards are eligible for this offer by visiting https://www.chase.com/mybonus. You have until the end of January 2025 to make bookings for stays until the end of August, so there’s plenty of time to take advantage of this offer. I’ll save this information for when I need to book a hotel that costs over $400.
