What to Expect at The Club BUF Lounge at Buffalo Airport

by joeheg

If you’re flying through a major airport, you might find yourself overwhelmed by the sheer number of lounges available. But what happens when you’re at a smaller regional airport? The options shrink dramatically. That’s precisely what my wife, Sharon, encountered when she had to fly out of Buffalo. She asked me if there was an airline lounge she could use on her way home, and I told her the only option at BUF was The Club.

The Club Lounges

The Club is an independent lounge network with spots in 17 airports across the U.S. and a few international locations. They often partner with airlines that lack their own lounges, and most of their locations accept Priority Pass. We’ve used The Club at MCO several times and visited the one at New Orleans MSY airport.

Now, I know better than to ask Sharon to write a lounge review—her brutally honest take on the United Club at SFO was, “It was an airport club. There were chairs, food, drinks, and a bathroom. Anything else?” (You can read the full review here). So instead, I asked if she could take a few pictures of The Club BUF, just in case she decided to visit.

The Club BUF

The Club BUF is located just past security, between gates 6 and 7. It’s open daily from 4:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and you can enter up to three hours before your flight. That said, I doubt many travelers would arrive at Buffalo Niagara Airport that far in advance.

From Sharon’s photos, the lounge looked like what you’d expect at a regional airport: functional but modest.

Food and Amenities

The food offerings were standard, with plenty of starches, fruit, and yogurt. There was also a coffee machine for lattes or cappuccinos, and Coke products were available.

The hot items included a cheese omelet, turkey sausage and hard-boiled eggs—simple but appreciated (Note from Sharon: the cheese omelet was nothing to write home about).

One highlight was the view. The lounge had floor-to-ceiling windows offering nice views of the tarmac. Lounge chairs lined the windows, and there were tables for those who wanted to sit down to eat.

For those looking for a drink, there was also a small bar and alcoholic beverages were complimentary.

Final Thoughts

While you can purchase access to The Club BUF for $50, most visitors likely use a Priority Pass Select membership from a credit card. It’s a perfectly fine lounge for a smaller airport, providing a comfortable space to relax before your flight. It may not wow you, but it does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

They just closed The Club at our local airport Jacksonville, FL ! With the Delta Lounge restrictions coming that will be a problem.. It was a good substitute for the SC.
