The Most Anticipated Hotels Opening This Fall, According to Forbes

by SharonKurheg

It seems as if the hotel industry opens a new hotel nearly every day. The problem with a Hilton Garden Inn, a Candlewood Suites or a Holiday Inn Express is that if you’ve seen one, you’ve pretty much seen them all.

But a new higher-end hotel? Well, that’s almost always exciting. It’s even more exciting when you can use points to stay at them.

Forbes magazine recently listed what they called 10 “hot property debuts” that are going to happen this fall. Some of these luxury hotels are privately owned or will require cash to stay there. But there are several where you’ll be able to use points from some of your favorite memberships:

Conrad Chongqing

Located in the Nanan District of Chongqing, China, this new 275-room smoke-free hotel is, of course, under the Conrad banner. This 55-story luxury property offers meeting & event space, 3 restaurants, a fitness center and spa, as well as a “floating pool” that offers panoramic views of the city.

Fairmont Breakers

Accor’s Fairmont Breakers, located in Long Beach, California, isn’t a new hotel. In fact, it’s a very old hotel that opened in 1926. However, the iconic space has been closed for several years to be “reimagined.”

Upon opening, the Fairmont Breakers will offer 185 boutique rooms and 22 suites. It will have a rooftop pool and terrace, as well as an open-air rooftop lounge with 360-degree views of the Pacific. There will be a live jazz club, 2 new restaurants and a 2-story spa. The Breakers will also have just under 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space.

The opening date has been postponed several times due to the pandemic and construction constrictions. However they’re currently welcoming online reservations for stays beginning December 1, 2024.

Park Hyatt London River Thames

Who doesn’t love a Park Hyatt?

This brand’s newest offering will be located in London, on the River Thames. The hotel will offer 203 rooms and suites with beautiful views of the UK’s capital.

The Park Hyatt London River Thames will boast a 20 by 8 meter (65 x 26 foot) indoor pool with natural daylight, a technologically advanced gym with double floor ceiling height, a spa with six luxurious treatment rooms, a riverside relaxation room featuring two Somadome pods and sauna facilities.

“A sense of genteel whimsy permeates every facet of the hotel, from the Charlie Whinney-designed interiors to the abundant natural light and serene views of the river and the works commissioned by 20 renowned artists gracing the walls,” says Forbes.

The hotel opens this Tuesday, October 8th.

And the rest…

The seven other hotels are not part of chains with loyalty programs that can assist you with getting a room. But they still sound VERY nice:

The Desert Rock Resort

Set in a hidden valley and nestled between two mountains, Desert Rock is a hidden jewel in Saudi Arabia.

The resort offers 60 keys – 50 villas and 10 hotel rooms – within the mountain with undisrupted views out to the horizon, allowing guests to absorb the dramatic desert landscape below.

Desert Rock features state-of-the-art facilities, including a world-class spa and fitness center, remote destination dining areas, and a feature lagoon oasis.

Hotel Yellowstone at Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole’s Hotel Yellowstone is 5 miles from Grand Teton National Park and an hour away from Yellowstone National Park. Best part? It’s adults-only.

Pendry Natirar

Located in New Jersey’s Somerset County, Pendry Natirar is a Tudor-style former estate with 500 acres of property.

The hotel will include 66 guest rooms, 4 eateries and a Moroccan-style spa, all just an hour away from NYC.

Populus

Located in Denver, Colorado, Populus is being touted as the first carbon-positive hotel in the U.S.

Regent Santa Monica Beach

“Experience the excitement of Santa Monica from a luxurious beachfront oasis.”

With 167 rooms, the hotel will offer beachside butler service, a 10,000-square-foot Guerlain Wellness Spa and celebrity chef Michael Mina’s epicurean brilliance at the hotel’s Orla restaurant.

Rosewood Doha

Qatar’s newest hotel will offer 155 guestrooms and suites, 162 serviced apartments for longer-term stays and 276 residences for rent.

Rosewood Miyakojima

Miyako Island is home to Japan’s largest coral reef. The Rosewood Miyakojima, which will have villas and houses for nightly rental, will be a beachfront property in the thick of it.
