If you fly a lot, you probably know a lot about, well, flying. How big your carry on can be, how heavy your checked bag can be, what to do if you need to claim compensation, etc. But what if you don’t fly very often? Or if you’re flying with your kid and they’re taking their clarinet because they’re playing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? Or you’re flying on some international airline that *gasp* you’ve never been on before? Or you’re flying in/out of Canada and need to know if you can bring your recreational marijuana with you?
You could Google to get to whatever airline or website it is and search for what you want to know about whatever policies for whichever airline, country, etc. But sometimes the information isn’t as easy to find as you’d like.
Or you could go to this one website that has just about everything, all in one place:
Airline-Baggage-Fees.com
It’s a very basic site – no fancy colors and no bells and whistles. But what it lacks in visual design is more than made up for with all the information that the page is chock full of.
It has links with info about nearly 400 airlines and even a few rail and bus companies.
It also has:
Up-to-date copies of the TSA rules carry-on for:
- Sharp objects
- Sporting goods
- Tools
- Martial arts & self defense
- Explosive & flammable materials
- other items
- TSA liquids carry-on rules
- Flying with marijuana/cannabis
- Flying with E-cigarettes & vape pens
Up-to-date copies of the CATSA (Canadian Air Transportation Security Authority) security rules for:
- CATSA prohibited items list
- CATSA liquids in carry-on
- Flying with marijuana/cannabis
An easy to understand flight compensation guide
It offers packing tips, including:
- Travel packing checklist
- The difference between piece concept and weight concept
- Calculating linear dimensions
It explains all about sporting equipment as special baggage, including:
- Bikes
- Windsurfing equipment
- Kayaks
- Fishing equipment
- Golf clubs
- Archery equipment
- Skis
- Snowboards
- Surfboards
- SCUBA diving equipment
- Kitesurfing equipment
It also explains about bringing your musical instruments onto a plane:
- Flying with musical instruments
- Musical instruments as a carry-on
- Buying a seat for your musical instrument
- D.O.T. rules for musical instruments
I think the site’s only downside is that it doesn’t have direct links to each airline. So you’ll still have to Google that for specifics that Airline-Baggage-Fees.com doesn’t cover, or for information about flight times, etc. But for basic info? I think it’s great and I’ve bookmarked it.

“THE “ONE STOP SHOP” WEBSITE FOR WORLDWIDE AIRLINE & FLIGHT INFORMATION” is a somewhat deceptive headline…I thought this meant like “flight information” tracking.
Sorry you feel that way. I figured most people would understand it as a way to get more information about flights. There are only so many characters you can use in the title before it’s too long. Specifying luggage size & weight, bringing musical instruments & sports equipment, etc. would have been too long, so I tried to go as far-reaching as possible with as few words as possible.
I think just “Airline Information” would have been more representative.
