Krispy Kreme just made a sweet deal twice as sweet.
Back in March, Krispy Kreme started a promotion where you could get one free glazed doughnut per day, every day through Dec. 31, if you showed proof of receiving a COVID vaccine.
By June 1, they had already given away over 1.5 million free doughnuts as a THANK YOU to those who have gotten COVID shots.
Now they’re building on that deal and making it even better.
You may be aware that Krispy Kreme makes heart-shaped doughnuts for Valentine’s Day. They’re very popular, so as a special treat, they’re bringing them back, but just for 1 week.
Meanwhile, for one week only – August 30th through September 5th – anyone who shows their Covid-19 Vaccination Record Card will receive TWO free doughnuts, an Original Glazed doughnut and an Original Glazed heart-shaped doughnut.
They say they, “wanted to find a way to show our support for those who are protecting themselves and others by getting vaccinated.”
There are a few caveats (they’re easy ones):
- Qualified guests include anyone who has received at least 1 of the 2 shots of the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine or 1 shot of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 Vaccine.
- Any qualified guest needs to show their COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card to redeem the COVID-19 Vaccine Offer (vaccine stickers don’t count).
- One 2 free doughnuts per person, per day (you can’t bring your friends’ and family’s Vaccination Record card for extra doughnuts).
- This offer is only available at participating locations (but it looks like it’s a whole lot of them).
For those who refuse to get a COVID vaccine because of reasons, Krispy Kreme says:
We understand that choosing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine is a highly personal decision. We advise all employees and guests to consult with their healthcare provider regarding whether to obtain a COVID-19 vaccination and which vaccine to receive after reviewing the available information. If you have made the personal decision to not receive the Covid vaccine, you can still purchase an Original Glazed® Heart doughnut for one week, 8/30 – 9/5 to share with a friend or family member.
