A Museum Devoted To, And Made Almost Entirely Of CANDY? Sweet!

by SharonKurheg

This ain’t your momma’s museum, y’all!

There are plenty of museums and exhibits that are “out of the box” in terms of subject matter. The Museum of Sex. The City of Wine. Downton Abbey: The Exhibition. The Neon Museum. Mickey Mouse: The True Original Exposition. The Burger Museum. So of course no one should be surprised that there’s currently a pop-up CANDY MUSEUM making the rounds and tickets are available right now!

Candytopia is a candy lover’s dream come true. It has over a dozen rooms of weird and wonderfully sweet stuff, with almost everything made of candy, including candy-inspired interpretations of famous artworks such as Mona Lisa and The Thinker. And guests are given samples of various sweet treats along the way, like chocolates, gummies and “nostalgic favorites.”

There are photo ops galore at this interactive museum. Oh, and did you ever want to swim in a marshmallow tsunami? You can do that there, too!

Named by Forbes as one of the best pop-up museums to visit, Candytopia debuted in Los Angeles and Santa Monica in early 2018 and has been such a hit since that, after closing its doors a few months later (pop-ups are, of course, temporary), it opened in New York in August and another installation opened in San Francisco in September.. Both installations were scheduled to close in November but have been extended through early January – so if you want to get your candy on at either coast, between now and right after the New Year would be a GREAT time.
