When people go to Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando Resort for the day, especially when they have kids in tow, they tend to have to carry a lot of stuff. Depending on several factors, they may have to contend with holding:
- Coats/jackets/ponchos
- umbrellas/mister fans/sunglasses
- Diaper bag
- Toys for kids
- Change of clothes
- Bags upon bags of souvenirs
- Coolers with food/drink/snacks/medication
- Pocketbook/backpack/camera bag
- etc. etc. etc.
And if you go on an attraction, it’s recommended that you take all your “stuff” with you (or potentially pay to put it into a locker), because even if you have a stroller or wheelchair for a member or members of your party, people have been known to steal things right out of them (and sometimes the entire wheelchair or stroller, with its contents!).
So we were thrilled when we read about an entrepreneur who has come up with an idea to help all these guests at the Central Florida theme parks with all the things they have to carry…
It’s called Mouse Sherpa. And it’s brilliant!
Instead of you and your family carrying all your stuff, you can rent a sherpa, either by the hour or by the day, to carry it for you.
From their website:
Mouse Sherpa is a service that allows you to hire a theme park assistant. Their responsibilities range from carrying your belongings, to watching your children when you ride an attraction (so there’s no need to baby swap), or even when you go out at night (some of the sherpas are licensed and registered as child-care facilitators, so they can offer night time child services if you and your spouse have reservations for, say, Victoria & Albert’s, or want to take advantage of the nighttime Extra Magic Hours). They can even take photos of you and your family, if you don’t want to purchase Disney’s Memory Maker.
And never fear – each Mouse Sherpa has an extensive background check done so you don’t have to worry about you or your family’s safety (copies of the background profiles are available upon request).
Each Mouse Sherpa has been issued an annual pass with no black-out dates, so they’re available to go into the parks any day of the year. All you have to pay is the hourly rate (although for longer days of 8 hours or more, you’re also required to purchase your sherpa’s lunch, which can be as minimal as a quick service meal).
I don’t know about you, but personally, I think it sounds like a genius idea.

The per day (8 hour price) is very reasonable.

Disney actually has this service. You can hire a private guide. She pushed our stroller, stayed with out youngest while the rest of the family road Flights of Passage, brought drinks to us when we got off rides and provided unlimited fast passes. The only catch is that it was 7 hour minimum at $400 hour.
