Dear IHG, Why Won’t You Let Me Buy The Points Offered In Your Email?

I had a whole post planned about why it makes sense to buy IHG points when they offer a great promotion like the one they just emailed me.

I find that IHG points are one of the most useful points currencies for our travel style. I’ll often purchase them when they’re on sale as it’s difficult to find a booking where they’re not worth at least 1/2 cent each.

So it was incredibly frustrating when I went to buy points through the link and received this message,

I know that there’s nothing wrong with our login information because I can log into the IHG website for both of our accounts with no problem. It’s only when I try to log into the promotion page when I get this error.

There are still several days left in the promo so I hope that IHG and points.com get their **** together in the next couple of days and lets me buy up to 250,000 IHG points with a 100% bonus.

I give up for now and I have no more time tonight to try to make this work.
