Another Disney Area Hotel Sold For 120 Million Dollars

by joeheg

Property around Walt Disney World comes at a premium. While Walt Disney managed to scoop up as much of the land around his planned “Florida project” by using shell companies back in the late 1960s, there were some owners who didn’t sell. The most prominent parcel is now named “Bonnet Creek” and is situated such that the only access road is from inside Walt Disney World. While the hotels on this land are not considered Disney hotels, they are closer to the themeparks than many of Disney’s own resorts.

The development includes the Waldorf=Astoria and the newly opened JW Marriott. One of the lesser noticed Bonnet Creek hotels is the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek. There are several Wyndham properties around WDW, including one hotel at Disney Springs.

Per local property records, the Wyndham Grand Orlando was recently sold to New York’s Tishman Group for $120.5 Million.

For the 400 room resort, that breaks down to about $300K per room. That’s nothing compared to the $1.37 Million per room that Host Hotels paid to purchase the Four Seasons in 2021.

Regardless of the name, there’s no doubt that property around Disney’s Orlando theme parks sells for a premium right now. All of this is before we’ve seen the $1 Billion resort community being built on part of the Hyatt Grand Cypress land just outside of Disney property.
