Woman Gets Voted Off Flight, Just Like On “Survivor”

by SharonKurheg

Survivor is a long-running TV show (since May, 2000 and still going) where a group of strangers are placed in an isolated location, where they must provide food, fire, and shelter for themselves. The contestants compete in challenges including testing the contestants’ physical ability like running and swimming or their mental abilities like puzzles and endurance challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination. The contestants are progressively eliminated from the game as they are voted out by their fellow contestants until only one remains and is given the title of “Sole Survivor” and is awarded the grand prize of US$1,000,000. (thanks, Wikipedia!)

FUN FACT! A handful of people on Survivor once worked in the aviation industry (so did a bunch of other celebs. Hello, Bill Nye The Science Guy?!?!?!).

So anyway, yeah – a bunch of people are purposefully stranded on an island or some such and, as they become losers of certain physical or mental challenges, are slowly “voted off” during the group’s “Tribal Council.” Or something like that. (can you tell I’ve never been a huge fan of the show?)

So imagine being on a plane with some disruptive people, and you get the opportunity to “vote someone off” the plane? That’s what happened on a recent Frontier flight (because of course it was Frontier. If it wasn’t Spirit or Allegiant, you KNEW it was going to be Frontier, right?) that was about to travel from Trenton, NJ (TTN) to Atlanta, GA (ATL).

Anyway, here’s how it went down…

During the course of three videos she recently posted, TikTok user Lanais (@lanaisli) showed how a disagreement grew, and then grew some more, between a woman and two other people who were seated several rows ahead of of her.

The first video started after the argument had already started. (Warning: videos are NSFW due to very adult language)

Security had already entered the plane in the first video. But they didn’t seem able to diffuse the situation, similar to the flight attendant who appeared to speak to the couple.

By the second video, it appeared that the couple in front (or at least the female of the two), were/was going to be escorted off the plane.

Meanwhile, a guy in a red hoodie was try to help, but he was pretty ineffective. He told other passengers to “shut the hell up,” and then tried to add a sociology lesson:

“This is literally American culture concocted into one airplane,” red hoodie guy said. “If everybody was really about everybody as a collective whole, everybody would work together. But everybody is against everybody. It’s American culture that’s the problem.”

About-to-be-kicked-off-the-plane woman wasn’t impressed.

It’s during this third video that red hoodie guy questioned how many of them want to vote her off the plane (note: the plane hadn’t taken off yet).

“If you want her removed from the flight, please raise your hand,” the red-hoodied passenger says. “I’m not even kidding. If you can hear me, raise your hand if you want her removed from the flight.”

He got….well, a whole lot of votes.

I’m sure the vote had nothing to do with it, but by the end of the video, the woman in the rear of the plane was being asked to leave the plane by security workers as well, because, as he said, “…30,000 feet, you can’t be arguing. Just grab your stuff.”

And off she went.

Just like on Survivor.
