What Are The “Must Have” Apple Watch Apps?

by joeheg

While I like to think I’m tech-savvy, I’m definitely not a first adopter. It took years for me to get my first smartphone and I waited a while before getting a tablet. I did the same thing with smartwatches and. until now. my wrist has been empty. That’s because I stopped wearing a watch a few years ago because I always found myself looking at my phone for the time instead of at my wrist.

Smartwatches, including the Apple Watch, have gotten smarter and Sharon loves her watch that she got last year, so I broke down and purchased one. It took Chase to offer a 50% bonus on redeeming Ultimate Rewards points for Apple products for me to finally give in, but what do I do now that I have an Apple Watch?

Everyday Apps

I’m obviously going to use my Apple Watch as a watch. I’ve heard about the health apps, and I’m looking forward to giving those a try to help me get back on the exercise trend. Are there any other apps that you use every day? Productivity? Lifestyle?

Travel Apps

I’ve learned that my iPhone is an indispensable travel tool and I couldn’t imagine going on a trip without it. Are there any apps for the Apple Watch that help when traveling? I can use it to scan my boarding pass, but that doesn’t seem like a game-changer.

I’m looking forward to using the Express Transit feature with my watch instead of having to pull out my phone when boarding the subway.

Anything Else?

Any tips for a new Apple Watch user would be helpful. Is there anything you wish you had known sooner? Something you tried but didn’t work as planned or isn’t worth the time or hassle? Things that work better with your watch than with your phone.

I’m looking forward to playing with my new device but I don’t have the time to mess around with every feature to see how they work. Thanks for any tips you have for a new Apple Watch owner.
