Happy Wednesday to all of our travel friends, both near and far! Here are some articles we’ve read from other bloggers (and other sources) that we think you may like, as well, so we’re passing them along.
- Gary from View From The Wing posted a very interesting article about the history of inflight video, and about how awful it was when it first started, 55 years ago. Well, the technology might have gotten better but airlines will never get in-flight entertainment right. Here’s why it will never work as well as one would hope.
- Several media outlets have posted about the woman who faked a pregnancy to avoid baggage fees. OK yes, it was clever and all (and she apparently fancies herself as an “influencer” on Instagram, so I’m sure she was very proud of herself), But really, there are lots of legit ways to avoid paying baggage fees.
- About a year ago, we wrote about airports doing trials that allowed non-ticketed passengers to go to the gate. It would allow people to accompany their loved ones to the gate, meet them at the gate when they arrived, and maybe even make use of the restaurants and shops while there. We were hoping it would eventually because a nationwide thing. It hasn’t yet, but Ben (Lucky) at One Mile At A Time reports that Detroit is now doing these trials, as well. Slowly (VERY slowly) but surely…
- Don’t try this at home! It’s not every day you see an A320 get stuck under a footbridge, but there ya go.
- Joe wrote a post about why you should visit cities as soon after natural disasters as you (safely and comfortably) can. We have. Key West. Schlitterbahn. South of The Border. Gatlinburg. After seeing the photos of Dallas, post tornadoes, in Andy’s Travel Blog, it makes us consider visiting that area in the not-too-distant future.
- Kyle at Live And Let’s Fly posted about wanting to bring his daughter to eat breakfast at Tiffany’s in NYC because she’s a huge Audrey Hepburn fan ( BTW, Lucy is 5. Yay for teaching her right!). Unfortunately, they didn’t call in time to get a table. {cough} He should have read my post about how to get ressies ahead of time {cough} ;-).
- Shawn from Miles To Memories posted about a way to get over 15% off Disney gift cards. If you used those gift cards on top of our post about ways to make a Disney vacation cheaper, it could make for a more affordable Disney vacation!
Like this post? Please share it! We have plenty more just like it and would love if you decided to hang around and clicked the button on the top (if you’re on your computer) or the bottom (if you’re on your phone/tablet) of this page to follow our blog and get emailed notifications of when we post (it’s usually about 3 or 4 times a day). Or maybe you’d like to join our Facebook group, where we talk and ask questions about travel (including Disney parks), creative ways to earn frequent flyer miles and hotel points, how to save money on or for your trips, get access to travel articles you may not see otherwise, etc. Whether you’ve read our posts before or this is the first time you’re stopping by, we’re really glad you’re here and hope you come back to visit again!
