TSA’s New Rule About Liquids In Carry On Bags (And A Really Lame TSA Video)

by SharonKurheg

On Friday, March 13, the TSA changed its interpretation of the 3-1-1 rule, regarding only being able to carry 3 ounces (well, 3.4 ounce) containers of liquids in one 1-quart plastic bag.

Posted in a Tweet by TSA Public Affairs spokesperson Lisa Farberstein, the new rule allows passengers to bring liquid hand sanitizer in the amount of up to 12 ounces in carry-on bags, until further notice.

It was noted in some replies to the tweet that with such a dip in airline passengers in recent days, the “added time” to the checkpoint would probably be negligible.

Meanwhile, the TSA posted a REALLY lame video the previous day that explained what you can bring in your carry on, “to stay healthy.” Take a look:

YEP! YEP! YEP!

“And now that I have your attention…” Yeah (yep!?)…I double-dog dare you to ask the TSA officer to change his/her gloves. If that doesn’t earn you a secondary security screening, I don’t know what will…
