One of my all-time favorite Starbucks promotions is Starland. While it was just an average promo as these things go, it had the unfortunate timing of starting right at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Many Starbucks stores were closed while others were only open for drive-thru or mobile orders. Not to mention that many people in the US were under lockdown orders and either working from home or furloughed.
Not the best time to offer a contest that awards entries for each purchase. However, it was a great promo if you knew that you can get two entries a day without making a purchase. By the end of the promo, I earned 380 stars.
Compare that to the total dud of a promo that Starbucks launched this summer which I, along with many other commenters on the blog, think was one of the worst Starbucks promos ever.
So imagine my thrill when I saw an email from Starbucks saying that Starland is back!
Starting on 9/28/20 thru 10/28/20, you can earn 2 entries per day either through in-store purchases or by requesting an entry through the website.
Starland is working much like last time. For each entry, you pick a star that will either give you an instant prize or an entry into a raffle for a number of prizes of your choosing.
You can win one of these 2.5 million prizes instantly:
- (5,000) $10 Starbucks digital gift card
- (2,000) Triple stars for a month
- (2,000) 25 stars for every mobile order & pay for a month
- (29,500) Free brewed coffee or handcrafted espresso beverage
- (3,000) 150 Bonus stars
- (389,300) 50% off seasonal beverage or handcrafted espresso beverage
- (100,000) Free bakery item
- (105,000) 50 Bonus stars
- (647,500) 25 Bonus stars
- (1,220,700) 10 Bonus stars
If you don’t win an instant prize, you’ll get a raffle ticket. The twist with this promo is that you get to pick which of the five raffles to enter.
Final Thoughts
I can’t say how happy I am to see Starland come back again. I’m not expecting to win as many stars as I did last time but anything is better than that summer promotion that just ended.
