Immersive Harry Potter Exhibit Set To Tour Worldwide In 2022

by SharonKurheg

Joe and I  have been big fans of the Harry Potter franchise for years. We’ve visited a bunch of the places where they filmed the movies and we hope to visit the Making of Harry Potter exhibit in Japan, after it opens in 2023 (we’ve already been to the U.K. studio tour twice). So when we heard that an immersive Harry Potter exhibition is scheduled to tour the world in 2022, it definitely caught our eyes and ears.

The exhibition is set to include behind-the-scenes looks at the Harry Potter series of films, as well as the Fantastic Beasts franchise. It’s being presented by Imagine Exhibitions, an Atlanta-based company with offices in Las Vegas, Chicago, Baltimore, Cleveland, Denver, and France. Founded in 2009, they produce dozens of unique exhibitions in museums, science centers, zoos, integrated resorts, and non-traditional venues each year.

Imagine Exhibitions will be partnering with Warner Brothers Consumer Products for this endeavor (that’s a good thing. That way you know it won’t be a piece of crap, like this thing was). From their website:

A NEW Harry Potter Exhibition is coming soon!

With new films and stories underway that continue to build and expand on the connected universe, Harry Potter: The Exhibition will deliver to a devoted and growing fanbase the largest and most comprehensive touring exhibition ever presented about the Wizarding World.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition promises to redefine traveling experiential entertainment through inventive storytelling and design that will surprise and delight all ages. From the mysteries of Hogwarts castle to the antics of its mischievous yet brilliant students; from daring duels to dragons and Dark Arts; from glittering Gringotts to the magnificent Ministry of Magic—the exhibition will celebrate magic, connect fans with a global community of wizardry, and reveal the artistry and craftsmanship behind the blockbuster films. Visitors will get an up-close look at authentic props and original costumes from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films as they engage with innovative, awe-inspiring, and magical environments and installations in this unforgettable experience.

No specifics, including locations, have been announced beyond that. However, they do say that the exhibit is expected to cover between 10,000 and 20,000 square feet (929-1,858 sq m).

For fans who want to hear more details of the exhibition tour as they’re released, including the announcement of the world premiere location and dates, they suggest following @WizardingWorld on Facebook or sign up for the Harry Potter Fan Club on Wizardingworld.com.
