Elan Financial Credit Cards’ Quicken Access is Broken

by joeheg

If you have more than a few credit cards, it can be helpful to use financial management software to keep track of your accounts. For decades, I have used the Quicken suite of programs to manage our banking, credit cards and investment accounts.

A few years ago I applied for the Fidelity Rewards 2% cash back card. The account is not run by Fidelity but is managed by Elan Financial Services. The two companies work together and the cash back earned is deposited directly to my Fidelity account.

Elan Financial manages credit card accounts for several financial institutions:

  • Fidelity (Fidelity® Rewards Visa Signature® Card)
  • Envision Bank
  • First Financial Northwest Bank
  • Country Club Bank
  • Busey Bank
  • Highland Bank
  • Chevron Federal Credit Union
  • Banner Federal Credit Union
  • MIT Federal Credit Union
  • NRL Federal Credit Union

Since applying for the account, I’ve tracked my spending on the Fidelity Rewards card in Quicken. However, for the past few weeks, I’ve been unable to update my account.

On September 25th, this update was posted to the Quicken Community. https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7940415/ongoing-10-3-23-elan-financial-services-cc-502-fdp-102-cc-505-fdp-105

We are getting reports that customers trying to connect accounts from Elan Financial Services are getting a CC-502/FDP-102 or a CC-505/FDP-105.

This has been escalated internally, though we do not have an ETA at this time.

As of today, there is still no explanation or resolution and there is no ETA when the problem will be fixed.

This issue remains ongoing and our teams continue to work toward a solution. No ETA or further details are available at this time, and this Alert will be updated once more information, updates, etc. become available.

I can check on my account by logging directly into the Fidelity Rewards website or through my Fidelity account but that takes time. It’s much easier to update all of my accounts in Quicken with one click.

In the past, I’ve encountered issues connecting my accounts to Quicken. Some of these problems were resolved within a few days, while others persisted for weeks or even months. Regrettably, the Apple Card cannot be linked to Quicken at all, and it appears that Apple and Goldman Sachs have no intentions of addressing this issue.

We can only wait to see when Elan Financial and Quicken fix this problem.
