I’ve been an AMEX Platinum cardholder for several years now, and I’ve found that the value I receive from the various credits far outweighs the annual fee of $695. I make it a point to review all the benefits each year to ensure that I’m maximizing the value of the card. And yet I recently discovered an additional credit that I hadn’t been aware of before. This particular benefit isn’t a direct feature of the Platinum Card, but rather a benefit of another Platinum Card perk. Nevertheless, it translates to an extra $100 in savings annually, further reinforcing the value of holding a Platinum Card.
AMEX Platinum Walmart+ Credit
One Platinum credit that I hadn’t used until this year was the Walmart+ subscription. Since it doesn’t cost anything, I decided to check out the service.
We’ve ordered a few things from Walmart, but I didn’t dig into all of the Walmart+ benefits until this week. That’s when I saw that the documentary about the renovation and reopening of Casa Bonita was coming to streaming on Paramount+. We’re a little obsessed with Casa Bonita, and we’re eventually going to visit, but until then, we figured this movie would be the next best thing.
The problem was that we didn’t have a Paramount+ subscription. I could have found an offer online for a free trial, but it turned out I didn’t have to. That’s because Paramount+ is included as part of being a Walmart+ member. A Paramount+ subscription normally costs $7.99 per month, so I’ll save $96 in a year with a free subscription.
Signing Up for Paramount+ with Walmart+
Signing up for Paramount+ was easy. The most important thing is to start by signing into your Walmart+ account.
Here’s a step-by-step list of how to enroll.
- Sign into your Walmart Account.
- Go to your Account page.
- Select Walmart+.
- Find Video Streaming with Paramount+ in the Benefits Hub.
- Select How Streaming Works to learn more.
- Select Get Paramount+.
- Create a Paramount+ account.
- You must use the same email for your account with Walmart+.
- Build your profile to start streaming.
Signing up took less than 5 minutes. You can add Showtime for an additional $5.49 a month or $64.99 a year.
Final Thought
While I held off on taking advantage of my Walmart+ credit with my AMEX Platinum card, I’m glad I finally got around to setting up an account. Not only do I get benefits with Walmart, but it also includes Paramount+, which will save me another $100 per year. I have to remember to add this to my calculations when evaluating the Platinum Card when the annual fee comes due.

Nice find! It also works with Amex Business Gold Card.
Does it work with Business Platinum?
It’s connected with the Walmart+ benefit which is only for the personal Platinum card.
Walmart is discontinuing the free Paramount.
Where did you hear this? I can’t find information on it anywhere.
