For travelers with a Priority Pass membership, finding an airport lounge can make the difference between a stressful wait at the gate and a much more relaxing start to a trip.
Passengers flying through Jacksonville haven’t had that option for nearly two years after The Club JAX closed to make way for construction.
Now there’s finally some good news.
The replacement lounge has taken another step toward becoming a reality, and a new, improved and much larger (over twice the size!) version of The Club JAX is one step closer to opening.
On July 31, the City of Jacksonville issued the build-out permit for The Club JAX.
The nearly $3.1 million build-out will create a 6,133-square-foot lounge—more than double the size of the original 2,725-square-foot location.
The new The Club JAX will be located on an elevated mezzanine just past security, and will be accessible via guests’ choice of two elevators, or stairs.
The new lounge will offer 131 seats, compared with just 52 in the previous location.
About The Club
The Club is a network of independent airport lounges found in several U.S. airports. While amenities vary by location, most offer comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages (including alcoholic drinks in many lounges), Wi-Fi, charging stations and a quieter place to relax away from the busy terminal.
There are currently 22 The Club locations across the U.S., as well as 2 each in Europe and South America, and 1 in Asia.
The Club is available for entry via Priority Pass membership or a day pass. Day passes vary in cost from $44 to $80, depending on location.
When the original The Club JAX closed in 2024, the entry fee was $40.
Although there’s still no official opening date, the build-out permit is a significant milestone toward bringing The Club JAX back to Jacksonville International Airport.
For Priority Pass members, and anyone willing to purchase a day pass, it also means a much roomier place to relax before a flight than the airport offered before construction began.
If all goes according to plan, travelers should have a lounge that’s not only bigger, but much better equipped to handle Jacksonville’s growing number of passengers.
