Check Your AMEX Accounts For These Easy To Use Offers

by joeheg

I love to use AMEX Offers. They’re a super-easy way to earn money back from your American Express credit cards. If used often enough, you’re easily able to negate most or all of the annual fees that their cards charge.

Most of the AMEX Offers try to drive you to use a specific merchant. Such as the round of hotel offers from this summer or the discounts on restaurants at Walt Disney World. While these offers have expired, I noticed a new round of offers hit my accounts recently and they’re going to be even easier to use. These offers are targeted towards everyday spending.

I found these offers spread all over our AMEX accounts. Some were only on one card so you’ll have to go through each account. You’re only able to see up to 100 offers in your account at a time, If you look to be maxed out, use the trick from the link in this post to reveal all of your offers.

Here are just some of the offers I found:

Get 15% back on purchases, up to $10, at U.S. Supermarkets

Figure this offer means if you spend $70, you’ll get about $10 back. The best part is this offer loaded on my Amex Everyday Preferred card, so I’ll also earn 3x Membership Rewards for grocery store purchases.

Get 10% back on purchases, up to $10, on your Insurance Bill

I don’t know about you, but any bonus category for paying my insurance bills is a good one. I’ll be able to max this out in a single payment. Pity, it wasn’t on both of our cards.

Get 15% back on purchases, up to $5 at Starbucks

To make the math easy, load $35 to your Starbucks account and you’ll get $5 back in AMEX credits. The funny thing about this one is that it only added to my legacy Bonvoy American Express card (The old SPG AMEX).

Spend $35 + Get $5 back at US Gas Station, Up to 3 times (total of $15)

This one is a no brainer to use. Make a single purchase at a U.S. gas station of $35 or more and get $5 back. You can use the offer 3x. The best thing is this offer was loaded onto my Business Gold Card, where gas stations are one of the 4X bonus categories.

Get 4 additional Delta miles per dollar spent on your cable or satellite TV bill

With this offer, you can earn 4 additional Delta miles per dollar, up to a limit of 1500 miles for paying with the Delta Skymiles American Express.

This is one I’m going to pass on because I’m already earning 5x Ultimate Rewards points for paying my cable bill with my Ink Cash card.

Final Thoughts

So what are you waiting for? Go to your American Express accounts and check your AMEX Offers. Make sure to check all of your accounts before signing up for an offer. Only enroll the card which gives you the best bonus for that category, if applicable.

Here is where an economical car bites. I keep getting the gas saving one, the first one was for $40, now I have the $35, but my car’s tank won’t hold enough gas to get it over those amounts and it has to be in one purchase. The biggest problem I have with AMEX offers is that the ones I really want I never get (the places I always spend money at), and I get the ones I either never spend at, or worse, have never even heard of!

I know that AMEX frowns on buying GC’s or I’d suggest just buying a gift card and using it for two fill-ups. Instead, could you buy gas and something from inside the station, like a 12 pack of soda? If that puts you over the limit, it might be worth it.
