55y/o Frontier Pilot Arrested, Accused Of Voyeurism Of College Student

Add this to the “really icky” files.

A Frontier Airlines pilot was arrested late last week. He is accused of installing a hidden spy camera in the bedroom window of a 19-year-old University of Central Florida student.

Vernon Dwayne Crider, age 55, faces one count of attempted video voyeurism and one count of burglary of an occupied dwelling, according to a report by WKMG.

UCF police say that Crider cut a hole in the student’s bedroom window screen and placed a small camera that faced the window glass to record what happened in the room.

The 19-year-old sophomore said she found the camera on September 20th, when she noticed a flashing green light in her window at The Pointe at Central apartments. She and a friend had just moved into the apartment 4 weeks earlier.

College police responded after they received the woman’s complaint about possible voyeurism at the apartments.

A camera the size of a cigarette lighter was found. Officers said when they reviewed footage on the SIM card, they found pictures of a man and the cockpit of an airplane. A deleted image that was recovered from the card also showed a legal settlement with Crider’s signature, the police report said.

Crider has been confirmed to be a pilot for Frontier Airlines. The airline reports that Crider had flown into Orlando on September 17th and was off on the 19th and 20th – that coordinates with the time frame when the camera was found.

UCF police are investigating the incident.
