Exclusive Hilton Honors Promotion with Delta Air Lines

by joeheg

Hilton Honors has recently introduced a promotion allowing members to earn bonus points. For a limited time, individuals can accumulate Hilton Honors points by reserving a “premium cabin” seat when flying with Delta Air Lines. While such promotions are not unprecedented, they frequently involve companies that have an established partnership.

Hilton Honors Promotion With Delta Air Lines

Hilton Honors members can earn 1,000 bonus points per one-way flight when booking upcoming flights in a Delta Air Lines premium cabin, with a maximum of 6,000 bonus points. For this promotion, a premium cabin includes Delta Comfort+, First Class, Delta Premium Select or Delta One, or a comparable premium cabin on a flight marketed by Delta’s Core Global and Global Airline Partners and ticketed through a Delta channel (featuring a ticket number beginning with “006”).

There are several requirements in order to earn points with this promotion:

  • To earn points, members must have active Hilton Honors and Delta SkyMiles accounts.
  • Register at this promotion page by July 19, 2024.
  • Members must add their Delta SkyMiles number as their preferred travel partner to their Preferences on Hilton.com.
  • Booking must be made while signed-in to your Delta SkyMiles account to receive the offer.
  • Book a flight in an eligible cabin through Delta.com, the FlyDelta App, Delta Reservations, Delta kiosks, and the Delta airport counters by July 19, 2024, for travel to be completed between June 19, 2024, and September 19, 2024.
  • Flights must be paid for in U.S. currency.

Previous bookings made before registering or when not logged into your SkyMiles account will not earn points and cannot be credited retroactively.

My Thoughts

Those seem to be a large number of restrictions, including having to go into your Hilton Honors settings and adding SkyMiles as your preferred travel partner. I guess these steps are necessary to track eligible reservations. The most striking thing is that there’s no mention of receiving points if you upgrade your seat. For example, you can select a Comfort+ seat at any time after booking and pay the seat assignment fee. In fact, that’s the only way to be reimbursed for the fee by a credit card with an Airline Fee Credit. Will Comfort+ seats purchased after booking be eligible?

I’ll register for this offer, but I doubt I’ll take advantage of it. Is anyone else excited about earning up to 6,000 Hilton Honors points?
